Get a Little, Give a Little

stingy old manThe fact is we’re stingy.  Maybe not you specifically, but many of us find cool training exercises, free resources, openers, closers, puzzles and other resources and we choose not to share them.  A friend of mine would say we get all we can, can all we get, and then sit on the can.  Not here!!  The idea here is to share interesting information, cool resources, and possibly even some curriculum here and there.  It won’t be easy, but you can do it.  Let’s start small.

I love rebus puzzles.  I use them when I start seeing the glazing of the eyes.  You can either pre-place them in your participant’s guide or you can have them within reach when you need something quick.  They can be used to improve interaction at a table if you want participants to work together to complete the puzzles, or you can give everyone 2 minutes and see which individual completes the most puzzles in the time allowed.  You can have a page of puzzles sitting on their desk when participants arrive thereby using the puzzle to take up some time before the training begins, or you can hand them out at break for those who get back early.  Having a few of these in your tool-box gives you some flexibility to energize the mind and restart the brain while taking only a little time.

So I will take the first step and share a rebus puzzle.  Click here for your free PDF file of a Rebus Puzzle with Answer Key.   Feel free to use it any way you see fit.  Do you have a puzzle you can share.  Feel free to send it to me at poortrainer@gmail.com
